When Billy was in High School, he was one of the founding members of Stage The Change: Theatre as A Social Voice, a program designed to help high school students create social justice based works across various art forms. This program, under the leadership of Ruthie Pincus, is now celebrating its eleventh year, and Billy always returns to teach a songwriting workshop each year.

Billy’s TYA work on the music and lyrics of “Petunia’s Big Day,” a family friendly puppet musical about anxiety that played at the New Ohio Theatre in 2022, was singled out in The NY Times. Billy has received Educational and TYA commissions from Barrington Stage, Child’s Play, USDAN Summer Camp for the Arts, Broadway Licensing and Concord Theatricals, including “10 Ways To Survive The Zombie Apocalypse,” based on one of the most produced Educational plays in the world, and “The Big Twist: A Musical OzVenture”.
